Nace una estrella

Johnny Sky es un artista completo. Con tan solo 18 años, sus grandes cualidades vocales y su versatilidad artístico-musical han llamado la atención de expertos, instituciones académicas especializadas y conocedores del mundo discográfico.

Su pasión por la música se puso en evidencia desde muy pequeño, algo que sus padres, familiares y personas a su alrededor  notaron y no dudaron en aconsejarle encaminándolo por el mundo del entretenimiento con clases de canto, piano y asignaturas teóricas musicales.

"Siempre me decían que tenía buen oído para la música y por eso me buscaron una maestra, que al principio no podíamos pagar, pero finalmente decidió ayudarnos", recordó el artista.La magia de Johnny Sky no solo ha llamado la atención de sus seres queridos. Ha tenido la oportunidad de compartir con famosas figuras de la industria, como el mundialmente reconocido tenor Plácido Domingo, quien ha contribuido a su crecimiento en el arte.

"Aprendí mucho de este gran artista. Me enseñó a adueñarme por completo del escenario, porque no solo es interpretar una canción, es transmitirle la energía al público, cantar y entregar lo mejor de ti", expresó la naciente estrella de padres dominicanos, cuyas influencias artísticas navegan entre el estilo de ídolos como las estrellas británicas Jessie J y Adele, los norteamericanos Usher y Rihanna, y el puertorriqueño Luis Fonsi, entre otros.

Johnny posee una voz con matices impresionantes y una presencia en escena capaz de conquistar al público más exigente. Su registro vocal es sólido y la fuerza interpretativa que posee lo eleva a un nivel de interpretación profesional, cualidades que llamaron la atención de Premium Latin Music, casa discográfica que acaba de firmarlo.

"Me siento privilegiado, muy afortunado. A veces no lo creo, porque pensaba que iba a pasar más tiempo para que alguien se fijará en mí, pero de verdad que le doy gracias a Dios por esta oportunidad, y a mis padres que siempre me han apoyado", dijo. Recordó que fue a través del periodista Bolívar Balcácer que se dio la conexión con la disquera, luego de que la madre de Johnny le enviara uno de sus trabajos.

"Le contestó y le dijo que me iba a llevar donde Franklin Romero, de ahí empezó todo", manifestó. 

Sus versiones de "Stay" y "Diamonds", de Rihanna; "Set Fire to the Rain", de Adele; "Without You", de Usher, y "Little Things", de One Direction, han alimentado su popularidad en la Internet, mientras arranca con la grabación de su disco de debut.

En medio de todo lo acontecido en la vida de Johnny, le llega otra rotunda oportunidad: Ha sido elegido para estudiar en el prestigioso Berklee College of Music en Boston, donde recibirá clases de diferentes materias musicales, desde voz, hasta producción musical.

"Me gusta escribir, tengo muchas canciones de mi autoría que formarán parte del álbum. Es cuestión de unos meses para salir al mercado y que el público disfrute de mi música", adelantó.

Lo que queda por venir, sólo el tiempo lo sabrá...

A Star Is Born

 At the tender age of 17, Johnny Sky is already a true artist. His masterful vocals and artistic versatility have been noted by experts, specialized academic institutions and those familiar with the recording industry.

His passion for music was obvious from the time he was very young, something his parents and others around him noticed immediately. They were eager to encourage his talent by sending him to singing and piano lessons.

"I was always told I had an ear for music and they found me a teacher that my parents initially couldn?t afford but who decided to help us anyway," recalls the singer.

Johnny Sky?s charisma not only enthralled his family. He has been privileged to meet world-renowned figures in the music world, such as the iconic tenor Placido Domingo, who has helped him grow as an artist. 

"I learned a lot from him," said Johnny. "He taught me to be confident, to completely own the stage when I was singing. You need to not just sing a song but transmit that energy to the public and give the best you have to give,"  said the up-and-coming star of Dominican parents whose musical influences fluctuate between the British Jessie J and Adele, American artists Usher and Rihanna, and Puerto Rican crooner Luis Fonsi.

Johnny is blessed with an extraordinary voice and a breezy presence on stage capable of winning over the most demanding public. His impeccable vocals are solid and the strength of his delivery places him in a privileged position where he easily commands the stage. It is not surprising then that the recording company Premium Latin Music has just signed him.

"I feel truly privileged ... very, very lucky. It was hard to believe because I always thought it would take much longer for someone to notice me but I am grateful to God, to my parents who have always been there for me and" He concluded. He remembered that it was through the journalist Bolívar Balcácer that the connection was made with the record label, after Johnny?s mother sent him one of his demos.

"Balcácer replied and told her that he was going to take me to Franklin Romero, that?s where it all started" he stated.  

His versions of Rihanna?s "Stay" and "Diamonds," Adele?s "Set Fire to the Rain," Usher?s "Without You," and "Little Things" have increased his Internet popularity enormously and he is now ready to launch his debut album.  

In the midst of everything else that is happening in his life, Johnny has been chosen to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he will study everything from voice to musical production.   "I like writing. I have written quite a few songs which will be included in the album I am going to launch in a few months. I hope the public will enjoy my music," he said.
